Tainan Coastal and History Ride V2:
- See this earlier post for point of interests.
- Newly added POIs:
- XiGu Seawall (七股海堤)。
- AnPing Tree House (安平樹屋)。
- Taiwan Salt Japanese Style Dormitory (安平靜苑)。
The updated version of this Tainan Coastal and History Ride V2 resolved issues in previous ride as follows:
- Switched north and south loops so the hotter weather got more rest stops.
- Fixed no roads at fish ponds area and reduced no traffic light 4-lane crossing.
Start & Go North
To avoid the noon heat, our Tainan Coastal and History Ride V2 took the northern loop first, so to complete the routes with few water supply stops.
In this route we also tested the EVOC 3L hip pack. It turned very nice: very comfortable riding with it, and much better ventilation than the backpack. I also used the hip pack to carry my DJI Spark Drone.

We soon revisited the temple famous for White Crane martial parade (保安宮白鶴陣)。
The temple.
Living crane.
Death cranes. LOL
Took a peek inside.

Chin KungShun Area 青鯤鯓
After the inland ride we turned onto coastal area near Chin KungShun (literally means “green big fish’s back”). Our Tainan Coastal and History Ride V2 again visited the Fan-Shaped Salt Field, but this time we went towards the tip.
Going towards the shore.
At the tip there was a small temple.

Far away you could see the fan shape.
South Towards LightHouse
After some drone flying we went to the town center for resupply, then continual towards the GuoSheng Lighthouse (國聖燈塔).

Salt art at Taiwan Salt Museum.
Thumbs up for democracy!
During our ride it was Tomb Sweeping weekend, so many people went out to cemeteries.
At previous ride this long straight section was full of hot winds. This time in the morning it was much better!
Far away was the sand hills surrounding XiGu Lagoon.
GuoSheng Lighthouse
Soon our Tainan Coastal and History Ride V2 reached the sand dunes near the Lighthouse. This time we took the risk and flew the drone against shore winds.

XiGu Seawall
Thanks to the colder temperature, our Tainan Coastal and History Ride V2 was able to visit the XiGu Seawall that went across a vast wetland for birds.

Onto Seawall for better views!
North Loop Finish
To end the north loop lastly we visited a temple near the seawall.
