Vancouver Granville Island Plus Stanley Park Summary:
Start with a Cup of Coffee
During my trip to Canada I had a day off to visit Vancouver. I started by having a nice latte at a popular local brewery: 33 Acres.
Brewery at the morning.
A nice cup of latte.
After the brewery, I decided to take the water taxi to the famous Granville Island. The stop was straight north near the Tellus World of Science.
Morning waterfront view.
The taxi was there!
Old school water taxi.
Morning rowing practices.
Another bigger water taxi…
After crossing a high-rise bridge, Granville Island Public Market sign was at site!
To the market!
Thank you water taxi!
Granville Island Public Market
The market was the first major stop of our Vancouver Granville Island Plus Stanley Park tour. The market was quite nice: lots of food vendors covering many things!
Busy market.
Need some fish?
The market also had ample outdoor space for people to rest and enjoy the sunshine.
The bridge we crossed before with the water taxi.
So many pies!
As I hadn’t ate breakfast yet, I choose a salmon pie t enjoy outside.
Little salmon pie.
Very nice pie.
Macaron shop.
Local Asian bakery.
Even a nice cafe inside!
The market sold many things, from selling ready-to-eat food to raw ingredients, land to sea.
Old school fish shop.
A cool sausage/ham shop.
As additional enjoyment, I picked some fish and salmon as snacks to eat while walking. Super cheap for lots of smoked salmon!
At the back of the public market were some arts and craft stores, and some yacht companies.
Cool shipyard place.
Nice slick boat!
Oyster shop!
Further down south, there were a big toy shop and a brewery.
No offense, but this really looked like a gay pride shop…
Conclusion: BEER is SALAD!
As the Granville Islane Brewery had so many people, I went to a craft liquor store nearby instead: The Liberty Distillery.
Nice bar front with big mirrors at back.
Having a nice sip.
Vancouver Lookout
Before we headed towards Stanley Park we went up the Vancouver Lookout tower. At the time of our Vancouver Granville Island Plus Stanley Park tour there was some big forest fire nearby, making Vancouver city view foggy.
The Lookout tower.
The fog made Vancouver looked like an Asian city…
The peninsula far away was Stanley Park.
Going toward Stanley Park
Our final destination of our Vancouver Granville Island Plus Stanley Park tour was Stanley Park. We took the bus from Vancouver Lookout and headed west.
Small Business BC Building at downtown.
Arriving Stanley Park’s south.
Our plan was to walk toward the lighthouse at peninsula’s east point then back.
Vancouver rowing club.
City view plus all the boats.
The famous totem poles.
Lions Gate Bridge, the Vancouver equivalence of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge.
And we got to the lighthouse!
As we walked back along the shore, there was a still operating cannon that fired at 9 pm every day.
