YoiChi Hatta Tribute Ride
Toward West & Holland Village
After our YoiChi Hatta Tribute Ride visited the WuShanTo Reservoir, we now rode west towards the coast, passing through Tainan plain area.
Another lake with temple.
On the hill side there was Industry Technology Research Institute (工研院) southern branch.
Also a prison…
As we moved towards west, we passed through a lake area with Holland theme (德元埤荷蘭村).
Holland village windmill sign.
“Old cow’s home”.
Passing the lake area through the back road.
Some gravel sections!
Rice fields and birds.
As our YoiChi Hatta Tribute Ride continued west, we passed through an area with lots of smelly cow raising farms.
LinFongYing Station (林鳳營車站), the name was also used by a Taiwanese milk brand.
Hmm…. , not what I would imagine for a cow farm…
“Milk cow’s home.”
Apparently this cow farm was converted from an old sugar train station.
XiaYing Township & NanKunShun Temple
Some wall arts here.
This would never happen in China.
Elementary school with cool front entrance.
Temple gate combined with sky bridge.
Lake again, with temple at one side.
Temple under maintenance.
School practicing martial arts.
Back onto river side bike path towards the big NanKunShen Temple!
Soon we arrived at the NanKunShen Temple again. This time there were few people, but there were many tables, probably for some big rituals.
Temple with many, many tables.
These tightly packed tables apparently were not for people, but for Ghost Festival (中元普渡).
The old main temple body.
After the big temple, our YoiChi Hatta Tribute Ride moved south to BeiMen (北門), a small coastal village famous for its crystal dome and else.
Here the road was very close to the water.
Fishing boats were parked at the waterway’s side.
In old times the church here provided help to local people’s black-foot disease (Arsenic poisoning).
Old medical clinic.
“Money comes” old grocery store.
Can’t really understand the taste…
Fish food, or penguin food?
The crystal dome.
Jingzijiao Salt Fields (井仔腳鹽田)
Finally, our YoiChi Hatta Tribute Ride reached our final major sight: JingZiJiao salt fields. A salt field with over 200 years old, the field was divided evenly into squares, each with cone-shaped salt in the middle.
Probably due to recent rain, the salt cones were covered by plastics.
This side faced the BeiMen lagoon.
Old human powered salty water pumping wheels.
Cool decorated old house.
Raced Back from the Rain Clouds!
After the salt fields, it was time to race back before the rain clouds came!
